“Reflecting on “Neighbor’s Eye” by Erin Lunsford, I picked up on feelings of wanting to break through, curiosity, and keeping your guard up. I pictured a woman searching for her way, using her intuition and the ‘love in her neighbor’s eye’.”

About the artist:

Alexa Taveras is an artist and musician originally from Long Island, now living in Richmond, VA. Finishing up her BFA of Communication Arts at VCUarts in 2018, Alexa continues to illustrate album covers, advertisements, logos and portraits for her supporting community from home, specializing in various ink line works. Emotion is a huge theme throughout her pieces and can be seen most in her portraiture.

“Since the start of COVID-19 pandemic, I was temporarily laid off from my full time job and had no choice but to apply for unemployment like the millions of Americans did in March of 2020. Losing my job impacted my income to pay for basic bills, but with this extra time, I’ve taken time to work on all the projects I had been putting off for so long.”
